Adult ID Services
Behavior Therapy
Behavior therapy services are designed to include assessments, program design, monitoring, and consultation/training (individual/parent, other professional) for adults with intellectual disabilities. A Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) designs and directs the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan once a functional behavioral assessment is completed. The plan is individualized to the adult in the setting where services are needed.
All methods and interventions incorporated into plans must be agreed upon by the adult/family/support staff and will be least restrictive, least intrusive, and reflect positive approaches. Examples of types of behavioral interventions that can be used include, but are not limited to, Reinforcement Programs, Functional Communication, Self-Monitoring, and Modeling Cognitive Behavior Modification. The BSC will be a Master’s or Doctorate level clinician in a related psychology field
Habilitation/Community Integration Aide
Habilitation/Community Integration Aide services are designed to provide social, emotional and environmental supports to adults with intellectual disabilities in the home and community settings. The Habilitation Aide provides community integration and social experiences and assists with activities of daily living in the home environment. The Habilitation Aide will assist the adult in addressing strength-based, therapeutic goals established by the treatment team. The Habilitation Aide will have a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field.
Speech/Communication Therapy
The communication department offers therapeutic interventions to adults with intellectual disabilities in the areas of: language (receptive and expressive) cognition, articulation, voice, fluency, communication disorders related to hearing loss, stroke, progressive neurological disorders, autistic spectrum disorders and dementia. Clients are also assessed for the ability to benefit from alternative or augmentative communication, i.e., books, sign language, and communication devices.
